Month in review - January 2021

This was a rather crazy yet also unproductive month for me. I had to finish up some finals for school, a new (and much better) president got sworn in, and I managed to maybe make a thing or 2.

My a6700y was holding up very well until I felt like it needed something that wasn't limited to a PCIe 1.1 bus and 800MHz DDR2. I slapped in a DH55TC that I've had for a little over 3 years and went with my life. Only one of the 2TB drives still work now, as expected. Also slapped in a NOS GTX 680 I had around. IMO, it's okay to open something up, no matter what.

I ended up using LineageOS on my S9+ because I wasn't liking the stock battery life too much. Works fundamentally the same, except less bloated and actually complies a little more with my country now. (I have the Deutschland Telekom model with the Exynos 9810 SoC, and that wasn't sold here in america) It worked fine on stock, but as mentioned before, the damn battery life kept me a little annoyed.

School has been shoving up more assignments up our asses since 2nd semester started. I still haven't got the chance to clean up my absolute junkyard of an area and I'll plan to work on that this month. Don't worry, a good chunk of the stuff that's tech related which I have is just worthless garbage.

You may noticed I changed my username on blogger from nodusmglide to k24a1. I wanted to keep it consistent with my other profiles online. Also, the board which that old username came from is now dead.

I got my instruction permit for driving recently! I did a couple of practice sessions with my father and all went rather smoothly. Just wish SKEWUL wasn't in the damn way. As for what car I'm thinking of getting, it'll be a V6 XLE camry from 2001 or something. However that probably won't happen until I'm 18/19, which actually isn't too far off now. Nice.

Being 16 1/2 and a teenager, I tend to have quite a good chunk of social anxiety. Having a long backlog of people I have talked to, I felt as if I didn't share a lot in common with my friends anymore. It's normal to feel that way and it's not too surprising either. Everything is going smoothly as of writing this now. I've had many friends in the past (lately, online took a good chunk of that list), and I've even had rather... strange ones which led me to burning a bridge or 2. Advice: Always "scan" people to make sure you are able to trust them. If something is off, RUN.

We got snow near the end of the month and I went sledding down a hill or 2. 'Nuff said, I guess.

I have yet to plan out my new PC build, but the Ryzen 5000 chips are literally NOWHERE to be found for their original MSRP. As of writing this, still can't find any. I could buy used, but I'd like new for another build. You never know when something will eventually start to fuck itself over, even during a round of competitive algebra schoolwork...

Pretty much it. Feeling awake yet also tired.
